The Original "Xenia Station" was built in the 1880's, and served many generations of Xenians. Over a century later, David Matthews was selected to construct a full-scale replica of that station at the Xenia hub of the Little Miami Bicycle Trail. No element of this project was standard or "off the shelf" - doors, windows, and extensive trim were all custom made. Back in 1930, David's grandfather Stanley Matthews used the same techniques when he built many of Xenia's homes. In a real sense, three generations of Matthews were involved in the construction of Xenia Station. David's father Gerald was his mentor, teacher, and best friend. He instilled in David tremendous construction experience and his personal values of honesty and integrity, which had been previously carried down from Stanley. The new Xenia Station is a nostalgic tribute to the many generations of Xenians who rode the rails, and to the three generations of Matthews custom builders. David Matthews brings expertise to your custom built home or expansion project. |
